Tishi's Halloween Costume 

We will all remember this year at MTV's Video Music Awards because of Miley Cyrus's performance.
Love it, hate it or even despise it, her performance was the most talked about thing around water coolers for quite a while.  So with that, I had decided that Tishi would look hilarious as the Twerktastic Miley this year for Halloween.  

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year both in real life and Second Life.  I always try to come up with something funny for me and my avatar to be each year.  It just makes parties so much more fun when my costume makes other people laugh, it is a blast!  So, if you would like to...share your Halloween Costume ideas with me!  Just add your photos to the Second Life Halloween Costume 2013 group on Flickr.  Anything from scary, to cute to hilarious photos are welcome!!

 I don't typically write reviews when I blog.  I enjoy taking pictures of outfits and that is pretty much the only reason why I do it.  However, this skin that Estella Magic introduced me to makes me WANT to write about it.  It is from a store called .Birdy. and I was so drawn to them because they are not only beautiful but so different.  It is hard to find something that is so well made in Second Life that every other avatar is not wearing.  The interesting thing about these skins is they change drastically when you change shapes.  This happens to be something I love because Estella and I were able to wear the same exact skin but because our shapes are so different we still looked unique.  Another thing about this store that I just absolutely fell in love with is the fact that all tones of the skin appliers for both hands and feet for the Slink Mesh Hands are 1L in the store.  That is such a huge savings when you think about how much most stores are charging for one skin tone for each applier!

With all that said, I really think you should check it out.  This skin I am wearing is the free group gift, so all you have to lose is the 50L it costs to join the group.  That is an extremely fair price, in my opinion.

Happy 4th!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!  I hope you had a lovely day filled with sunshine and barbecues :)  If not, then I hope it was a pleasant day none-the-less.  So, I decided to do a bit of a patriotic tribute to celebrate the USA's Independence Day.  I hope you like it.  

I happened to get these GOS shoes today (in Red, to match my theme) and I have to tell you, they are the most amazing things I have ever owned in Second Life thus far!  It was one click and the skin was matched, no muss no fuss.  I had a hard time justifying spending nearly 1k on a pair of shoes I probably wouldn't wear often, but the second I tried them on I stopped worrying about how much they cost.  So, you might see Tishi wearing these for a few posts...I don't want to change them!  hehe

Since I spent so much on the shoes, I decided to throw in a few freebies to complete the look.  The facepaint was just too cute for me not to grab it for 1L.  Once I got the look together, I had to add the sousaphone for good measure.  It just looked adorable on her and reminded me of how Tishi would look if she was going to be in a 4th of July parade!  Wouldn't a Second Life parade be fun?  :)

What's Your Digits? Meme

So here is my version of the Monday Meme by Strawberry Singh.  She asked us to answer a few questions in relation to measurements in second life and even included a rough guide to proportions for average humans (pictured below). 

Proportions Challenge Questions:

1. Do you try and keep your avatar’s body proportionate and similar to the “average” proportions pictured above? Yes, I try to.
2. What do you dislike the most about the SL avatar? Ugly hands and feet (but thank you SLink for making awesome mesh ones!) and the lips on the SL avatar are not very realistic looking especially when looking at the avatar's profile.
3. Does it bother you when you see other avatars that are not proportionate at all? It kinda does.  I try to remember "to each their own", but when it is something like really obvious T-rex arms with a super unrealistic tiny waist or something like that, it tends to irritate me a little.
4. Even though this is a virtual world and people can be anything they want to be, do you feel when they are in human form, they should try to keep their proportions close to average? It is honestly up to the person.  I try hard not to judge someone's version of beauty.  Whatever floats their boat, right?

So I know I am behind on this (like usual) but I thought it would be fun to answer the questions for Strawberry Singh's Weird Questions Meme.  So here goes...

1. Which was the last sim you visited? (Other than your home) Collabor88
2. Does your avatar look like the real you?  I typically have the same skin tone and hair color as myself, but otherwise I look nothing like Tishi. 
3. Do you wear underwear/panties underneath your clothing when out and about on the grid? Very rarely.
4. If you won a million linden dollars, what would be the first thing you buy inworld? I would buy two sims.  One for Estella Magic and I, so that we could create a fun little community place where everyone is welcome to come hang out.  The other would be a beautiful commercial sim where I would invite some of my favorite stores to set up shop. 
5. Have you ever bought something in SL and then realized afterwards that you had already owned it from before?  I have done this more times than I like to admit.  I don’t have a very long attention span it seems.
6. Have you ever done anything in Second Life that would be considered illegal in real life? Not that I am aware of.  I have never even had slex.  LOL I have a very boring avatar indeed.
7. If you could go out on a date with any other avatar, who would it be?  I don’t date in SL, but if I did I would probably ask Art Frakture out on a date.  I think he is a cutie and a lot of fun to hang out with.
8. Who, in your opinion, was the greatest avatar to ever slive? Estella Magic (my bestie)
9. What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done inworld?  I created an adorable little boy avatar and I used to go around sniffing (or I should say, pretending to sniff) the behinds of a few amazon-looking avatars at an infohub.  They were not too thrilled with it, but I thought it was hysterical!!
10.  If your avatar had a mind of its own, what do you think it would say to you?  “Damn, Lainie (aka the lady behind Tishi’s avatar)…you really should get a life!”
